Deepening Native Roots: Welcoming Jessa Rae Growing Thunder

The Center of Southwest Studies is excited to host two days of events with Jessa Rae Growing Thunder. Growing Thunder is a third-generation beadwork and quillwork artist of the Fort Peck Assiniboine (Nakoda) and Sioux (Dakota) tribes of northeastern Montana. She holds a Ph.D. in Native American Studies from the University of California-Davis and is a Fort Lewis College alumna.

These events are made possible through the generous support of the Women & Girls of Color Fund and a Luce Indigenous Knowledge Fellowship.
