A Legacy of Gifts: 60 Years of the Center of Southwest Studies celebrated six decades of collecting, stewardship, and community partnerships through a selection of more than sixty cultural and historical objects, works of art, archival materials, and ephemera donated to the Center's museum, archives, and research library between 1964 and 2024. Commemorating the Center's sixtieth anniversary, the exhibition highlighted the enduring relationships between the Center and the individuals, families, Tribal communities, organizations, and regional partners whose generosity has shaped its collections.
Collaboratively organized by the Center's staff, the exhibition drew inspiration from the traditional anniversary gift guide to assemble an eclectic selection from the Center's diverse holdings. Several objects were exhibited publicly for the first time, illustrating the breadth of the collections and the stories they preserve.
A Legacy of Gifts is supported by a generous grant from the Ballantine Family Fund.
