Coloradans and our Shared Environment in Times of Challenge and Change highlighted the deep connections Coloradans share with the state's natural landscape and, through it, with one another. The exhibition featured collaborative works created by teams of artists and scientists examining how communities across Colorado have experienced the interconnected challenges of wildfire, drought, water resources, and air quality.
Organized by the University of Colorado Boulder's Office for Public and Community-Engaged Scholarship in partnership with the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research (INSTAAR) and the Boulder County Arts Alliance, the exhibition explored the intersection of art, science, and community engagement. Through collaborative artistic practice and scientific research, the featured works encouraged visitors to consider the environmental challenges facing Colorado and the relationships between people, place, and resilience.
The exhibition was presented at the Center of Southwest Studies with support from the Ballantine Family Fund.
