Featuring the work of internationally recognized fiber artist and costume designer Birgitta Bjerke, this exhibition showcased pieces spanning 1964–2008.
The exhibition, 100% Birgitta, shared the artist’s personal history and the changing times she experienced, weaving together themes of family, friendships, love, and the cultural attitudes of the places where she lived and worked.
Bjerke’s work spanned several decades and illustrated the social and political attitudes of the 1960s through the 1980s. Her key contributions included clothing and fashion design, as well as graphic illustration and drawing. Her creations ranged from wild and revolutionary to precise and meticulously crafted, yet they consistently reflected a distinctive artistic identity—always unmistakably Birgitta.
