Southwestern Postcards

CSWS has digitized thousands of postcards featuring  Southwestern topics and locations.

The Nina Heald Webber Postcard Collection includes several thousand postcards offering the tourist perspective of Durango, Silverton, Ouray, Telluride, Mesa Verde, Mancos, Cortez, the Million Dollar Highway, and other areas in the Four Corners region from 1890s through the 1950s. The physical postcards are housed in the archives at the Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College. History Professor Dr. Andrew Gulliford wrote about Ms. Webber's donations in this Durango Herald article dated November 2017.

As you click through the volumes below you will find more information on each topic and can scroll through the related postcards or search via the map.

These are great resources for historical images of Durango and surrounding areas! Many of our images are available for purchase; please fill out the Image Duplication Request Form.
