Among the peaks and plateaus of the American Southwest, there is a rich diversity of tree species. Some are BIG – reaching significant sizes in the lofty San Juan Mountains of Colorado; some are OLD – their historical ages now being revealed by the science of dendrochronology; all are ENDANGERED – constantly exposed to drought, fire, insect pests, disease, and other perils posing threats to their beauty and very existence.

At the Old Growth Forest Conference, leading scientists and naturalists will examine old growth forests issues based on their research and field experience.
