Title:

Dry-laid stone wall
Date/circa:  1939/1949
Photographer: Ellison, Eddie Boyden (Santa Fe, N.M.)
Subjects: Archaeological sites--Photographs;
Notes: Close-up image of a dry-laid stone wall. The image is of a double-walled structure with a small gap in between the two walls and it seems to have a slight curve to it. The structure may have been a kiva or a tower. The individual stones have been shaped by tools and there appears to be small chinking stones in between the larger shaped stones. Due to the numerous pits and holes in the stones, they may have originated from lava rock. This negative was in Drawer 1 labeled "Indians." This is negative 12 of 34 in original sleeve.
Negative#:  12362

This photo is part of the Ellison family collection, donated to the Center by Gary Ellison, son of Betty D. and Edward H. "Rocky" Ellison and grandson of Eddie Boyden Ellison.
