Abstract:

The program is divided into Parts I and II. I: Quantitative aspects of a

topographic map and important features of a USGS 15 foot quadrangle map sheet.

The distance, elevation, direction, area and position are determined from a

topographic map. II: Treatment of the qualitative aspects of a topographic

map. Interpretation skills are required to understand symbology and identify

landforms using contour lines. Report contains instructions in use of narrated

slide program and narration scripts of both segments. User should be furnished

with numbered slide set and audio cassette for each segment.
