Abstract:

Report provides info on cost impacts and benefits related to current and

proposed regulations related to geology. 1) Current and proposed geology

regulations Were reviewed and analyzed to identify absolute and incremental

cost elements. 2) The identified cost elements were applied to each mine model

and region to general regional costs. 3) The benefits related to the

regulations were analyzed. The assumptions and results relative to each of

these parts are described in this report. The role of small entities in

regional coal production in 1978 (USDOE, 1980) is also presented in this

document.
