Abstract:

Report discusses likely socio-economic impacts upon Borough of Centralia through

implementation of various mine fire abatement alternatives. Much of the data

presented is derived from residents of Centralia whose lives now or may be

impacted by the underground mine fire. During the process, interviewers took

special care to ensure that comments and opinions were recorded accurately and

each person interviewed provided complete information (private/business).

Interviews conducted provided a sound foundation for report preparation and is

sufficient to support findings.
