Topical guides to special collections
at the Delaney Southwest Research Library

The Center of Southwest Studies has hundreds of special collections.  The purpose of the pathfinders we have developed is to lead the researcher to collections that may contain useful historical documentation pertinent to a certain topic of study.  These are especially helpful when doing research, because they can facilitate bridging the researcher's subject-based inquiry with the Center's provenance-based method of archivally arranging collections by the name of the person or entity that created or used them.  Each of this should be considered partial guide, drawing your attention to what we currently perceive as highlights in the hundreds of CSWS special collections pertaining to each of these subjects.

Pictured below is Fort Lewis College History Professor Duane Smith, using a photo collection at the Delaney Southwest Research Library.  Dr. Smith has had a monumental role in attracting many of the collections that were donated to the Center of Southwest Studies.
