Content: Tapes of interviews pertaining to life in Durango, Colorado. Especially, those conducted by Duane A. Smith as part of his research for his books on Durango and vicinity. Content: Ceramics and other three-dimensional objects from Mexico. All of the items were estimated [by Homer Root] to be at least 100 years old at the time the loan was made (circa mid-1960s).
Note: An elderly lady at the time of the loan, Mrs. J. A. Gutman was a former resident of New Mexico. She gave the collection to Mrs. Baughetee, daughter of former Durango doctor B. J. Ochsner, who in turn loaned it to the College museum.

Content: Research materials compiled by Myra Jenkins on the history of the Spanish Southwest, especially New Mexico. Bulk on land grants and water rights of Pueblo Indians, and New Mexico history. (62.5 linear shelf feet before processing in the summer of 1994 by Cindy Jackinsky.)
Note: Myra Ellen Jenkins died in June of 1993 (obituary in Denver Post 6/28/93). Dr. Jenkins bequeathed her research collection to the Center in her will. She was long the state historian of New Mexico and was a friend and colleague of the Center’s founding director, Dr. Robert Delaney.

Content: El Archivo de Hidalgo del Parral (Chihuahua, Mexico); microfilmed handwritten documents in old Spanish from Spanish Colonial period, Nueva Vizcaya. These are records of the city of Parral, a frontier silver mining town in northern Mexico. Over 360,000 pages. Indexed. A rich source of documentation for many aspects of frontier life in northern and western Mexico and southwestern U.S. during the Spanish Colonial Era (1631-1821). Content: U.S. Geographic Survey topographic quadrangle maps, both 7.5 minute and 15 minute, of regions in Arizona, southern California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah. Most are marked duplicate; they were previously in the Reed Library collection.

Content: These are the official records of Spanish central and local government, including census and court records. Edited by Myra Ellen Jenkins. Contains information on all subjects during the period of Spanish sovereignty over New Mexico. The records (the originals are housed at the New Mexico Records Center and Archives in Santa Fe) were filmed chronologically, except for miscellany (1680-1821) on roll 21 and orders and decrees (1656-1821) on roll 22. See the Center's microform collections finding aids (request this from Collection M 129)for a guide to the collection (1967; 23 pages) and calendar (1968; 182 pages); both printed volumes were produced by Myra Ellen Jenkins.
