Title:

Navajo women
Date:  circa 1940-1950
Photoprint #: D00207045
Subjects: Werito, Jane; ; ; Navajo women--Colorado--Ignacio--Pictorial works; Huerfano (N.M.)
Notes: Jane Werito and her sister-cousin, Sarah Begay took this photo during a visit to a county fair when they visited a photo booth. They are from the same Navajo clan, Manyhogans clan, so they are considered "sisters" in the Navajo way of familial relationships. Growing up they were best friend and later each married two brothers from the Kinbeto, NM area.

This photo was loaned to the Center by Venaya J. Yazzie and her grandmother Jane Werito Yazzie for digitization in February, 2007.
