• Historical note: On April 4, 1910 by an Act of the Colorado Legislature (Senate Bill #1 introduced by Senator West), the Fort Lewis School was established as a School of Agricultural and Mechanical Arts and Household Arts, with funding for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1911 and ending June 30, 1912. The initial appropriation was "for the biennial period of 1911 and 1912, the sum of $60,000."  (We have a copy of this Act document in this collection M 001, Series 11.C.11.)
